Chevrolet & GM Classic Automobile Manufacturing, Master Hands, Films on DVD

Chevrolet Master Hands, Manufacturing is a 9 Film DVD..Table of contents: Master Hands- Classic capitalist realist drama showing the manufacture of Chevrolets from foundry to finished vehicles…Master Hands II- Excellent montage documentary, which essentially builds an automobile from scratch.
Master Hands III- A BEAUTIFUL DRAMATIZATION OF HOW THE MASTER HANDS OF CHEVROLET CRAFTSMEN FORM THE PATTERNS, TOOLS & DIES, & CONTROL THE HUGE MACHINE THAT FASHIONS THE MODERN CAR.
Master Hands IV- We watch, as the Detroit Philharmonic plays (excellent music I might add) as it starts from the foundry, pounding out metal for the cars, to screwing on nuts, to fitting everything in place. It’s also an awesome showcase of the production line, and how mind numbing it all must have been. Triumph of America I (1933) Smoke spewing factories and smoggy cities are shown while the narrator orates in frenzy about modern American industrial greatness. Triumph of America II- Auto manufacturing as an expression and motivator of America’s economic success. American Harvest Part II-(1955) This institutional film was designed to promote Chevrolet’s corporate citizenship rather than any specific model of automobile. American Harvest Part I- (1955) This slick, GM-sponsored film, part of the series, which produced American Look, at first, seems to be a tribute to farmers and miners and all others who produce raw materials. Key To Our Horizons- (1952) A mid-century tribute to the automobile and its importance in American life and the economy.
