Thu, 17 Dec 2009 05:09:45 EDT GM to build Chevrolet Aveo at Orion Twp. plant (Detroit Free Press) General Motors Co. plans to build the Chevrolet Aveo compact car at the Orion Township assembly plant, Mark Reuss, president of North America, said Wednesday night. The plant is one of GM’s largest manufacturing facilities in Michigan, with 2,900 workers. The plant, which had made the Chevrolet Malibu, is to be retooled next year to build the small car.
